Hello,

I am trying to install QeD in Ubuntu Hardy using the installer file. I used the command "sudo chmod +x (installfile).bin" then ran it in the terminal. The license agreement showed up, but after I said "yes" and hit enter, the terminal said this:

Checking Java Runtime Environment configuration...
./qed_2.0_setup.bin: 185: Syntax error: Bad fd number

and exit. Did I do something wrong? I installed JRE 6.0 using synaptic.

Hi
well the linux installer is a bit out of date (and I won't be updating it anytime soon). If you tried installing QeD using the root account and it doesn't work then bummer Smile

My advice is to get the zip archive - http://qed.qproject.org/dl.php?file=qed_2.0.zip - extract it and just run directly using one of the commands below (modify path where neccessary):
java -jar /usr/qed20/qed.jar
java -classpath /usr/qed20/qed.jar Qed

This of course means that you will have to install Java separately and create a symlink if you want to.

(You can have a look at the source of the bin linux installer, as the begining of it is just a bash script, so you might find some of it useful).

Hope this helps Wink

Thank you for your tip. I will try that; otherwise I will just use cuegen or a similar program.

Nice program, though!
